Nicola Kleer

Nicola Kleer is a a research and teaching assistant at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Cologne. She joined the Department of Media and Technology Management in June 2019.

After finishing her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (B.Sc.) at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, she studied Business Administration with a focus on Media and Technology Management (M.Sc.) at the University of Cologne. She completed her master’s degree with a thesis on the impact of actor engagement on companies’ business models. Her dissertation focuses on the antecedents and consequences of the engagement concept. Nicola Kleer has successfully completed her PhD in June 2023. 

Her research interests are in the fields of business model dynamics, customer engagement in online communities, actor engagement in networks, sustainability management, and digital technologies. Current research projects focus on the antecedents and consequences of customer engagement in online communities and on the antecedents of business model innovations and transformations.
